Deputy Education Minister P Kamalanathan said the report was lodged at noon today in Putrajaya to enable investigations to be carried out on the allegation by the newspaper.

“We view seriously the matter. Normally, we try to resolve problems under the ministry through reports and an internal inquiry, but this is getting a bit overboard,” he told reporters at the ministry’s UBSM Digital Education Odyssey 2016 at the Parkcity International School here.

The newspaper had on Sunday reported that the syndicate was master-minded by a senior education ministry officer.

However, yesterday, Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid denied the existence of such a syndicate.

The UBSM Digital Education Odyssey 2016 serves as a platform to exchange views and opinions on the importance and relevance of information and communication technology (ICT) in enhancing teaching and learning of different disciplines in the field of education from pre-school to the tertiary level.

Themed “Digital Dimensions in Learning and Teaching”, the programme was organised by the education ministry in collaboration with an academic bookstore, University Book Store Malaysia.

Besides today’s programme in Kuala Lumpur, the UBSM Digital Education Odyssey 2016 will also be held in Kuching, Sarawak, on Nov 17 and 18.
