IPOH: Police have identified the person who disseminated and viralled a video clip of members of the Civil Defence Force involved in throwing snakes into a muddy pool during a team-building camp for a group of schoolchildren.

Perak deputy police chief Hasnan Hassan said the police had also identified the civil defence members involved in the incident.

“We are in the process of recording statements from the persons involved to facilitate our investigation,” he said in a statement here.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 352 of the Penal Code and Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

In the video recording of the incident, a group of schoolgirls were seen in tears and screaming after snakes were thrown into a muddy pool they were crossing.

Water was also poured on them and they were harshly addressed as one of the tests to challenge their bravery.
