“The big parties think they can bully the smaller ones.
“We do all the work but when it comes to elections, they want to stand.
“This is not very ethical,” PSM Central Committee Member S Arutchelvan told The Star Online.
The seat is currently held by PSM’s Dr Michael Jeyakumar.
He had contested the seat four times since the 1999 elections. He won the seat in 2008 and 2013.
He had contested under the DAP banner in 1999 before switching to PKR in 2004.
Arutchelvan said PSM would also consider contesting in other areas.
“It looks like the Opposition is not interested in one-on-one fights.
“If that’s the case, it opens the floodgates so don’t accuse us of meddling when the time comes,” he told the news portal.
In the 2013 General Election, PSM was engaged in three-cornered fights with PKR and BN in the Semenyih state seat, and with PAS and Barisan in the Kota Damansara state seat.
BN won both seats.
