PETALING JAYA: The pen drive which purportedly contained documents showing the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) alleged wrongdoings is free of any elements of corruption, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed today.

MACC Investigations Director Azam Baki revealed that the anti-graft agency has reviewed the pen drive which was handed to them by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin last Friday.

“We will soon submit a report for our investigations into FAM to be enhanced and for the association to address the technical issues raised,” he said, adding that MACC was prepared to cooperate with FAM on the matter if there were any elements of corruption.

Azam’s statement comes two days after the Crown Prince of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim admitted that the pen drive did not contain evidence of corruption plaguing the FAM but instead revolved around technical misconduct, such as favouritism in team selection, unprofessional coaches and exco members not carrying out their respective duties.

On Sept 2, Khairy handed over the pen drive to the MACC which was previously said by Tunku Ismail to contain evidence of corruption in FAM.

Khairy had said then, that many of the documents were technical details pertaining to Malaysian football and not on corruption alone.

TMJ had in July revealed, via the Johor Southern Tigers official Facebook page, that he possessed a pen drive containing documents that would show there was corruption in FAM.
