In a sarcastic posting on Facebook, Nik Abduh, who is PAS Youth leader, called Husam “a rare student” of his father who had made it appear as if his father would follow him even in death.
Without mentioning Husam by name, he wrote: “When Tok Guru was still alive, he always tells people that Tok Guru will follow whatever he says.
After Tok Guru passed away, he still tells people that if Tok Guru is still alive, he would have left PAS to join a new party.
“It seems as though till death, Tok Guru would have istiqamah (remain steadfast) and follow him. This is one ‘rare’ student of the late Tok Guru.”
No names were mentioned on Nik Abduh’s posting, but the message was clearly aimed at Husam, who referred to his close relationship with the late Nik Abdul Aziz when announcing that he was joining Amanah. He said PAS was now akin to a ship that was sailing nowhere.
Husam was once called a protege of Nik Abdul Aziz. He was expelled by PAS on disciplinary grounds earlier this year.
Yesterday, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang criticised Husam using Nik Abdul Aziz’s name as an excuse to justify his switch.
