
Wan Rusli Zain, 49, admitted intimidating Deen Jelutong Restaurant worker Abdul Alim Habib Rahuman, 33, with threats that he would wreck havoc on the premises at 12.20am on Aug 26.
The charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code carries a maximum two years’ imprisonment or a fine, on conviction.
He admitted to the second charge to committing mischief by causing damage to the cash register and food rack glass in the restaurant totalling RM3,000, on the same day and time.
The charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code carries a maximum five years’ imprisonment or a fine or both, on conviction.
Subordinate Court Assistant Registrar Muna Maria Azmi set RM3,000 as bail in one surety for each of the charge, and Sept 15 for sentencing.
Meanwhile, counsel Cheah Eng Soon, in mitigation, said Wan Rusli had a wife and two children to support.
Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Izzah Shaharuddin appeared for the prosecution.
