“This irresponsible act was meant to create anxiety among the public,” Venugopal Navaretnam said in a statement today.
Venugopal, who is the Corporate Communication’s Secretariat officer urged members of the public to dismiss such rumours and refrain from spreading information from unverified sources.
The public, he added, should instead refer to the authorities if they needed further clarification.
Earlier today, the “list”, purportedly issued by PDRM’s corporate communications head Asmawati Ahmad named the heads of several gangs including “Gang 36”, “Gang 08” and “Gang 04” among others based in Kedah, Kuala Lumpur, the Klang Valley, Penang, Malacca and Johor Baru.
