At a press conference today, Budiman, who is also the Sungai Panjang assemblyman, urged Azhar to be realistic about standing on an Amanah ticket, questioning how Amanah could fulfil any of the pledges.
“Amanah is not part of the Federal Government and there is not even one Amanah exco in the state administration.”
Budiman also dismissed Azhar’s statement that Sungai Panjang was lagging behind Sekinchan, represented by Amanah’s Pakatan Harapan ally DAP.
The Sungai Besar parliamentary seat is made up of the Sungai Panjang and Sekinchan state seats.
Budiman said Sungai Panjang also had a lot of ecotourism activities, just like in Sekinchan.
“In Sungai Panjang, for those who do not know or have only recently returned to Sungai Besar, there are many ecotourism activities here.
“Aside from home stays, we also have firefly tourism and hornbills in this area.”
Earlier today, it was reported that Azhar claimed development in Sekinchan was more advanced when compared with Sungai Panjang.
He also said if he was elected as the parliamentary representative, he would work hard to ensure the people of Sungai Panjang better understood the political situation in the country.
