PETALING JAYA:
The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has announced new traffic compound rates for 2016 to help traffic offenders settle their outstanding summonses.

The new rates, effective from April 4, will only apply to meter and road offences, with rates ranging from RM20 to RM100, depending on the class of vehicle.

The special rates will not apply to blacklisted offences, court-registered offences and pink notices for moving traffic offences, such as beating the red light, stopping in yellow boxes at intersections, and moving against traffic on one-way roads.

Offences involving motorcycles will be rated at RM20, whereas those involving cars, MPVs, vans, small lorries, pickup trucks, four-wheel drives and SUVs will be rated at RM30.

Offences involving heavy vehicles such as buses, tractors, large lorries, heavy machinery, cranes, trailers and containers will be rated at RM100.

Payments for the special rates can be made at DBKL counters, payment kiosks, post offices, or made online via myeg.com.
