Missing BTP director found in Miri, daughter says

Educational Technology Division Director Zaidi Yazid was missing since April 30, according to a post on his daughter's Facebook page.

Educational Technology Division (BTP) director Zaidi Yazid who was reported missing since April 30 has been found, according to his daughter, Zaheera Zaidi.

In a recent update on her Facebook account, Zaheera said her father was found safe in Miri, Sarawak.

“Alhaammmdulilllaaahhh berjaya dikesan di Miri, Sarawak. Keadaan stabil. Later sy akan update jika ada info. Sy pun belum dapat detail cerita sebenar. Terima kasih jasa baik kawan2 bantu sy share di fb,” Zaheera posted.

(Thank God, located in Miri, Sarawak. Condition stable. I will update later if I have more information. I myself have yet to get the full details. Thank you to my friends for helping me share on Facebook.)

Earlier, Zaheera made an appeal to the public on Facebook to help in searching for her father.

According to the information she provided, her father was last seen leaving his house in Seksyen 4, Bangi, at 6pm on April 30.

“I plead to all my friends. If anyone sees my father, please contact me. The last time I saw him was on Saturday, April 30th, at six in the evening. He left the house saying he would be sleeping at INTAN Bukit Kiara,” she had said.

Zaidi’s disappearance was confirmed by Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid who was aware of the family’s anxiety.

He, however, called on all parties not to speculate on the man’s disappearance as the police were still looking into the case.

“I note the concerns of Zaidi Yazid’s family regarding his safety at this point due to the fact that he has not contacted any of his family members or friends since yesterday (Sunday morning).

“It is understood that a police report has been lodged by his family. Together we pray that he is will be safely found and returned to his family. God willing,” he said in his Facebook status earlier.

Police also confirmed that Zaidi’s family filed reports of his disappearance.

The reports were made at the Bandar Baru Bangi police station and the case is being investigated under the category of “missing persons.”
