‘Alleged affair cause of Rawang double murder’

Police say the husband, a lorry driver, will be charged next week.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Jealousy over his wife’s alleged affair with another man led a lorry driver to kill her and her baby in Taman Rawang Perdana 2, Rawang, on April 14.

Selangor police chief Abdul Samah Mat said police investigations found that the suspect was believed to have killed the victim and the baby after finding out that she had an affair.

“Police are confident this case has been solved with the arrest of the suspect as the motive is clear.

“The suspect will be charged next week,” he told a press conference at the Gombak district police headquarters near here today.

The suspect has been placed under remand until April 27 and if convicted for murder faces the mandatory death sentence.

On April 14, a 34-year-old woman and her seven-month-old baby were found dead at their home Taman Rawang Perdana 2.

In a separate case, Abdul Samah said police were extending the remand order on the suspect in the rape case of a four-year-old girl in Sungai Buloh near here until April 27.

The suspect has been remanded since April 18.

The case is being investigated under Section 377(C) for sexual connection with an object.

In the incident on April 14, the child was said to have been raped by the suspect at 1am before he was caught by members of the public.
