Youth activist Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, launching the Anak Muda Citizen’s Declaration today, made a personal plea to Khairy and Khairul.

“I have always regarded you in a brilliant way. I respected you. But now, please join us in this movement. This is the citizen’s movement. This is the time for you to come up and speak up.”

Syed Saddiq said he had always viewed Khairy as one of the leaders who would save Umno. “I still have my trust in you. But as each day passes, it is eroding,” he said. “Maybe the current generation can be fooled. But believe me, the youth will not be fooled,” he said.

Syed Saddiq announced a “ribbon movement” for youths to tie ribbons comprising colors of the national flag all over the country.

“This movement signifies the people’s power to partake in the change making process by putting their differences aside to Save Malaysia. Tying the ribbon to signify the resilience of our nation.”
