KUALA LUMPUR:
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman Said today slammed the Australian Broadcasting Channel (ABC) reports which were critical of Prime Minister Najib Razak.

She said the desperate attacks on Najib only proved his innocence, adding that the public was not naive to believe everything reported in the international media.

“The more you make allegations, it’s obvious you are confirming the prime minister’s innocence because you are so desperate.

“We’re not that naive lah because the attacks are too consistent and continuous. This sort of attacks seem very desperate.

“If you look at the (anti-Najib) movement now, from the Citizens’ Declaration to international documentaries, it seems they really want to replace the PM.

“To me, they are acting desperately probably because there’s a hidden agenda behind all these documentaries and declarations,” she told reporters outside the Parliament lobby here today.

The Pengerang MP described the ABC reports as “unfair”, making it seem like all the Cabinet members are co-conspirators in the alleged corruption.

She stressed that Najib was innocent until proven guilty and said since he had been cleared of all these allegations, it would be unfair to continuously make accusations against him.

“How would they feel if we made a documentary about their own country’s leadership? How would they feel if there’s a documentary like that on other leaders, even in the Asean region?

“If they did documentaries like that on the leadership in Singapore, I think the government-to-government relations will be bad.”
