SHAH ALAM:
The Selangor government has not received any official letter from Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar asking for the state local authorities to take down the #BebasAnwar billboards in the state.

Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the state government would wait for an official letter from the IGP before taking any further action.

“I was not informed about it … If that statement is made via his Twitter account, how can we deal with Twitter?” he told reporters after attending the monthly assembly of Selangor government departments here today.

Azmin was commenting on a tweet by Khalid yesterday calling for the Selangor local authorities to take down the #BebasAnwar billboards that could be deemed seditious.

Khalid said the words on the billboards describing former Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as a political prisoner could also confuse the people.

The #BebasAnwar billboards are found in 20 locations in Selangor, including in Subang and Rawang.
