PETALING JAYA:
A two-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man, both from Myanmar, were injured after being shot at last night.

Fortunately, the two victims were reported to be in stable condition at the Selayang Hospital.

In the 10pm incident at Pasar Borong Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, locals reported that a group of men were fighting before two shots rang out.

In a statement, Sentul police chief Munusamy Rengasamy revealed the bullet struck the toddler in his right leg while the other victim was hit in his stomach.

“According to witnesses, five suspects fled the scene in two cars after they fired their guns.

“A man was arrested to assist the police in the investigation. He has a criminal record but is not on our wanted list,” he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for two days.

Munusamy also said police recovered five bullet casings and two bullets.
