Illegal for Anwar to use helicopter to campaign, says Azmin

Bersatu leader accuses PM of abusing government resources meant for official duties only.

PETALING JAYA:
Bersatu’s Azmin Ali said it was illegal for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to take a government helicopter to campaign in Jeneri, Kedah, last week.

“We cannot abuse the government’s resources and use them for our campaign activities,” Azmin was quoted as saying by China Press.

He added that Anwar has all the rights to use the helicopter, but only when he is carrying out his official duties as prime minister.

Anwar had previously defended his use of the helicopter, saying he has the right to use it because it belongs to the government.
