PH candidate sounds alarm over low postal ballot numbers

With only 398 ballots issued for the state polls, Michelle Ng says PH is 'headed for disaster' if this reflects the voter turnout on Aug 12.

PETALING JAYA:
PH’s Subang Jaya candidate Michelle Ng has urged voters to come out in droves on Aug 12, in light of the low number of postal ballots issued for her constituency.

Ng said only 398 postal ballots have been issued by the EC for the state polls, a far cry compared to the 2,850 that were issued for the Subang parliamentary seat during GE15.

With Subang comprising only two state constituencies, Kinrara and Subang Jaya, she said that equated to 1,425 ballots for both state seats.

“If this is reflective of the voter turnout rate on Aug 12, we are headed for disaster. In order for PH to retain the state, we need at least a 65% turnout. I hope this is a wake-up call. Come out in droves and support us,” she said in an Instagram video.
