PENANG: PH’s Sungai Puyu candidate Phee Syn Tze has clarified that she is a Malaysian citizen who secured permanent residency (PR) in New Zealand.
“My permanent residency allows me to work and study there. I don’t have the country’s citizenship,” Phee was quoted as saying by China Press.
DAP’s Phee said she was given PR when she was pursuing her studies in New Zealand in 1997. She returned to Malaysia in 2008 and has been living here since then with her husband and two children.
