KUALA LUMPUR:
The Kita Food Festival has returned to entice lovers of all things food and drink. The event – the first iteration of which debuted last December – offers fresh perspectives from chefs based in Southeast Asia while championing Malaysia’s emerging culinary scene.

This year, Kita introduces a star-studded calendar in Penang and Kuala Lumpur, having kicked off last month with a series of happenings in Langkawi.

It aims to draw attention to Malaysia’s rising status among the global restaurant scene while highlighting the importance of the country’s culinary heritage and ethical producers, providing inspiration and training for the next generation of food producers, and building a platform for thought leadership and community.

Highlights include exceptional dining experiences, masterclasses and workshops, TED-like talks, and forums with some of the world’s finest chefs, winemakers and food thinkers.

Plus, as an annual ritual, keep a lookout for the Big Sunday Barbecue, where chefs co-create innovative dishes at their respective grilling stations.

Here’s what you can expect this month and next:

  • George Town, Penang
