The exclusive production has been specifically tailored for the Kelantan market, where only male performers have been allowed to perform in live shows since regulations were introduced in 2002.
“We have worked hard to create an all-male performance that complies with state guidelines. We are honoured to bring the Great British Circus in a form that can be enjoyed by all local residents,” circus co-founder Biliana Kirilova said in a statement today.
“One of our goals is to make the circus an accessible form of entertainment for as many people as possible, accommodating various segments of society, including differences in language, culture, religion and economic background.”
The show will feature new male artistes and has been reimagined to maintain the same level of excitement as the circus’s regular productions.
Audiences can expect a two-hour, family-friendly show filled with comedy, stunt acts, acrobatics and dance, suitable for all ages and featuring international artistes from over 10 countries, without using animals.
Performances are scheduled almost daily at AEON Kota Bharu from Oct 26 to Nov 17.
