Well, good news: the casual-dining restaurant, which has been in business at Bangsar Shopping Centre since 2020, recently launched its second outlet at Tropicana Gardens Mall in Selangor.
A penchant for good food is in founder Roberto Guiati’s DNA: the restaurateur hails from Ferarra in Emilia-Romagna, a northern region of Italy known for its world-renowned pasta that dates back to the Renaissance.
The new branch, he told FMT Lifestyle, caters to the Kota Damansara community and is aimed at spreading the delicious flavours of authentic Italian dining.
Indeed, one of his joys is in offering classic Tuscan and, especially, Emilian dishes – an under-represented dimension of Italian cuisine in Malaysia.

To add to the stamp of authenticity, all their ingredients come from Italy, while their executive chef hails from Emilia-Romagna, and their pizza chef from Guiati’s hometown.
And that’s not all – Guiati’s wife and brother are involved in the business as well, “so it is a family affair for the love of food”, Guiati shared.
Roberto’s is also aimed at sharing the experience of Italian dining. To that end, many of the dishes here are designed for sharing, making this the ideal place for intimate or large gatherings.

“In Italy, eating together connects us with family and friends,” he explained. “We share Italian hospitality by welcoming our guests like family and making every visit truly memorable.”
Pizzas take centre stage here, and patrons can watch from the dining area as their orders are made. A signature feature in both Roberto’s outlets is the wood- and gas-fired pizza ovens brought over from Italy, combining traditional methods with modern technology.
Given that diners will likely be spoiled for choice, here are FMT Lifestyle’s recommendations.
Kick off your meal with some of Italy’s best starters such as the Burrata alla Caprese, served with tomatoes, cheese and olives; bruschetta; or the Taglieri e Formaggi (cold cuts and cheese).
Seafood lovers can’t go wrong with the Filetto di Barramundi or the Sea Bass Cartoccio.

As for the pizzas, this writer’s favourite is the Pizza Sole, a beautiful sun-shaped offering bursting with flavours, thanks to fresh tomatoes and burrata cheese.
Finally, for those who have difficulty finding their way to Bangsar or Kota Damansara, Guiati hinted that further plans are in the pipeline, although he kept mum on what these might be.
Ti auguro successo!
