The eatery, which officially opened its doors on Oct 1, is part of Mel’s Group, along with CC by Mel and Zen by Mel. The bakery oozes warmth, making it an ideal spot to catch up with friends or simply enjoy some me-time.
Speaking with FMT Lifestyle, Damien Lee, 30, who founded Mel’s Group with his wife, Melanie Pong, shared that patrons can look forward to a selection of savoury and non-savoury pastries at the bakery.
There are also breakfast items, as well as gâteaux and petit, or little gâteaux, which are light sponge cakes, either frosted or filled with rich icing.
For Lee, the freshness and quality of their food are important and as such, the pastries are baked daily. Those with cream, Lee added, have a waiting time of up to 15 minutes as they are only piped upon order.
The bakery is also home to another brand under Mel’s Group called Last Affair that is open from 6pm to midnight and serves plated desserts typically found in fine dining restaurants.

Indulgent is an apt word to describe the Choco Mochi Crookie. The pairing of a crunchy chocolate cookie on a croissant (hence, its name “crookie”) is simply heavenly.
With layers of chocolate cream and mochi and a generous topping of chocolate chips and nuts, each bite is divine.
Indulge your sweet tooth further with the sumptuous Pecan Boncafé Cruffin. A combination of croissant and muffin, take one bite and you may just find yourself sighing with delight when you discover the Boncafé coffee cream filling inside.
Topped with caramelised pecans and a dusting of icing sugar, this pastry is a real treat.

There are several unique items with both Asian and Western influences on the menu and one of them is the Chicken Masala Tacro.
Yes, the name gives it away: it’s a buttery croissant shell shaped like a taco. It encases a generous helping of flavourful masala chicken – making this a delicious hybrid of French, Mexican and Indian cuisine all in one!

Next, the Satay Chicken Focassant, which is another interesting item on the menu. It is a delightful combination of focaccia bread and croissant that encases piquant satay chicken filling.
It is hard to go wrong with one of Malaysia’s popular foods – satay – and each bite of this treat is scrumptious, especially as it is topped with cucumbers and onions, just like how satay is typically enjoyed.

Keen to enjoy something heavier? Give the All Day Breakfast a go! The toasted sourdough bread tastes fresh and has a lovely crunch – absolutely perfect to soak up the runny yolk of the egg.
Served with thick chicken sausages, baked beans and a small salad, this dish – true to its name – is a hearty meal for any time of the day!
Other interesting items include the Melting Pain Au Chocolate, Dodol Burger, Pure de Vanille and Citrusy, both petit gâteaux.
Enjoy your treats with either a hot latte or cappuccino, or a selection of uniquely crafted mocktails.
All in all, you will likely leave with your belly full and your heart content – but just remember not to count the calories!
