And now, there is another reason to drop by as they have introduced a brunch menu during the weekends.
“Over the years, we don’t normally open for lunch. Since the economy opened up after the pandemic, I’ve seen Bangsar becoming a fairly popular place for lunch,” said 75-year-old Ronnie Quay, who founded the establishment in 1992.
Joining him in introducing the brunch menu was Jasmin Ung, 49, who owns a business selling handmade pork sausages and patties called Mince.meatery.

Speaking with FMT Lifestyle, Ung said: “We make sausages from home using meat that is free from antibiotics. We don’t put any preservatives and use spices and herbs.”
Ung, who started the business with her husband Hood Elliot in 2021, added: “A lot of times, when we sell to consumers, we find that they know how to cook the sausages but don’t know how to make a complete meal.
“So, we hope to show that sausages can be cooked in many interesting ways for wholesome good meals that are not difficult to prepare,” she said.
Tasting notes

Nothing says pub grub better than Bangers and Mash! Here, the classic dish is done just right. The pork sausages, which Ung calls “English bangers”, have lovely hints of sage and thyme and are served straight off the grill.
They come with a generous portion of beer gravy, perfectly complemented by creamy mashed potatoes and soft minted peas which add a freshness to the dish. Topped with sweet caramelised onions, each bite is lip-smackingly delicious!
Alternatively, give the Italian on Peperonata a try. The dish features pork sausages known as “The Italian” with pleasant hints of fennel and paprika. When paired with marinara and peperonata, which is a stewed pepper sauce, each bite bursts with flavours in your mouth.
Served with a side of mashed cauliflower with parmesan and crunchy toast bread, you may just find yourself going ‘buono buono’ after the meal!

Or how about giving “The Bratwurst Experience” a go? These pork sausages are rich in spices, especially mace. They pair well with the sweet and sour flavour of “rotkohl”, a popular German side dish of red cabbage.
Served with rosemary garlic potatoes, basil aioli, honey mustard sauce and caramelised onions, the dish is simply a smorgasbord of flavours.

If you’re up for a really hearty meal, order The Three Musketeers as the dish comes with all three sausages: the English Banger, the Italian and the German Bratwurst!
That’s not the end of the good stuff – you also enjoy a serving of mashed potatoes, rotkohl, and honey mustard sauce. Served with lashings of beer gravy and buttered toast to soak up the sauce, the term “go big or go home’ is a rather apt one when it comes to this dish.

The Signature Pork Burger is yet another hearty item here. The pork patty is scrumptious on its own, but the taste is further enhanced by a delightful combination of marinara sauce and flavourful basil aioli.
Served with a side of thick and crispy fries and homemade BBQ sauce, this dish is worth getting your hands a little messy for!

End your feast with a dark chocolate brownie from local business, What Imelda Bakes. Topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and popcorn, it may be indulgent – but hey, it’s the weekend!
