With more than 188 dishes served on a rotation basis, the buffet is laid out at the cozy Garden Terrace Restaurant located adjacent to the golf course.
Speaking to FMT, executive chef Othman Abu Baker, 55, said: “Although 70% of the buffet are traditional dishes, we also have international cuisine such as Indian, Korean, and Japanese.”
Among the highlights are the Arabic BBQ Lamb with Kabsa Rice; Daging Rendang Tok (beef rendang); Rendang Itik (duck rendang); a selection of Gulai Kawah (curry cooked in a cauldron) and freshly grilled seafood.
Othman, who hails from Ipoh, shared that he developed a passion for cooking while watching his mother in the kitchen, and later learned to cook from her. He even used her beef rendang recipe for the buffet.
“We have live-cooking stations where our team will make onde-onde and apam balik, among others,” he said, adding that he hopes that guests will enjoy what he and his team have prepared.
The FMT team indulged in this feast of gastronomical delights, and here are the top picks.
Tasting notes

The Arabic BBQ Lamb appeared to be popular among guests and it is not surprising why. After all, the meat is both juicy and flavorful, with no gamey aftertaste.
Served with aromatic Kabsa rice and saffron eggs, it is a delicious and filling meal, even on its own.

What can define Hari Raya better than beef rendang and here, the Daging Rendang Tok does not disappoint. Each bite of the beef is tender, fragrant, and simply bursting with flavours.
While it can be tempting to enjoy an extra helping of this sumptuous dish, guests best remember to save some space for the other delights!

After the lamb and beef, how about giving the Chicken Kurma a try? Yet another popular dish in Malaysia, the curry is pleasantly creamy and rich, a perfect complement to the tender pieces of chicken and hot rice.

If you’re looking for something lighter, the satay is a lovely option. The meat is grilled to perfection, juicy on the inside and with charred bits on the outside. The satay is not too oily, in fact, it’s simply perfect when paired with the savoury-sweet peanut sauce.
Other highlights include the mutton curry and roast duck. The former is a delightful dish of tender meat with robust flavours, and just enough spice for a nice “kick”.
Meanwhile, the latter is a dish done right here. With crispy skin enveloping succulent meat and a nice amount of fat, it is lip smacking! Additionally, the buffet also includes Western cuisine such as pasta and Lyonnaise potatoes.

To top off your meal, head over to the vast selection of delectable desserts such as cakes, traditional kuih-muih, Ais Kacang and Cendol.
Also, don’t miss giving the crispy keropok lekor, pisang goreng or cempadak goreng a try. Enjoy them with a hot cup of teh tarik for a pleasant way to end your evening!
