The next time you’re out shopping for groceries, how about picking up some frozen halibut and grilling it at home with soy sauce and honey?
It’s an easy enough recipe to follow, using everyday pantry ingredients that render a lip-smacking meal as good as any you’d enjoy at a restaurant.
This recipe should work just as well for any white fish filet, or if you’re feeling adventurous, salmon would be fine too.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 slab halibut filet
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Juice of half a lemon
- 2 tablespoons soya sauce
- 1 glove garlic, chopped finely
- some pepper to taste
- asparagus and mushroom as sides (or any other vegetable of your choice)
Method
- Mix everything in a small bowl (except the fish obviously).
- Season the fish with salt on both sides.
- Heat pan till sizzling hot, the pan fry filet for one to two minutes on each side.
- Turn down heat to medium and cook for another two to three minutes on each side.
- Keep liberally basting the fish with the sauce while it’s cooking
- Cook the asparagus and mushrooms in the same pan while fish is cooking.
- Once done, serve and dine while hot.
