The NSFC said those infected were undergoing compulsory home quarantine and will be monitored for 10 days by the health ministry.
“Continuous Covid-19 tests are being carried out for close contacts of the NSFC players and officials involved.
“NSFC would like to apologise to the fans because the team will not be able to continue their campaign in the Malaysia Cup competition. This is for the safety of all parties as well as on the recommendation of the team doctor,” the club said in a statement that was uploaded to the team’s official Facebook page today.
This had also resulted in the cancellation of NSFC’s friendly against Kuching City FC, which was supposed to have been held two days ago.
“The NSFC hopes that the fans will continue to support the team and pray for the well-being of the players and officials,” the statement added.
