The 33-year-old accomplished her third summit at 5.50am local time on Saturday, said Pemba Sherpa, executive director of 8K Expeditions which organised the expeditions.
“It is an unprecedented feat for her as no woman before her had ever climbed Mount Qomolangma thrice in a single season,” Sherpa told Xinhua.
Previously, Shrestha scaled the 8,848.86m-high peak on May 12 and May 19 during this spring climbing season. She first summited in 2018.
Besides Mount Everest, situated on the border of Nepal and China, Shrestha has climbed Mount Manaslu (8,163m), Mount Annapurna I (8,091m), Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mount Lhotse (8,516m), Mount Makalu (8,463m) and K2 (8,611m).
