Pages from I Learn To Control Myself by Fita Chakra have been posted on Facebook and Instagram to warn of the book’s explicit content, provoking consternation, disbelief and much discussion among social media users.
On one such page, an illustrated boy smiles while the text above him reads, “Sometimes, I put my hand inside my pants. I repeat, again and again.” in Bahasa Indonesia.

On another page, a boy is drawn wrapping his legs around a body bolster below the words: “I cross my legs tightly around a bolster. For fun, I move my body up and down. Oh it feels good. My heart is pounding, but I am happy.”
The FB post came with the warning for parents to “check and re-check” the contents before buying children’s books.
According to the Singapore daily, the book has been withdrawn from some online stores, but is available on at least one web bookstore for 17,600 rupiah (RM5.90).

The synopsis on the site says the stories in the book teach children to sleep alone and protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases.
Fitra Chakra’s website says she is a writer, trainer and teacher. She has written several children’s books on emotional and physical development, and has three daughters, says the BBC.
