KUCHING:
An engineer lost RM11,530 after being scammed by an online seller who claimed to sell Taylor Swift concert tickets.

Sarawak police commissioner Azman Ahmad Sapri said that the man, who is in his fifties, purchased three tickets after seeing it advertised on the e-commerce platform Carousell.

“The victim then went to a bank in Kuching to make three separate transactions to the bank account provided by the suspect,” Azman said in a statement.

However, the engineer said the seller could not be contacted after that.

The victim realised that he had been cheated and lodged a police report for further action, Azman said.

Swift will be performing in Singapore next March as part of her world tour, with six concert dates scheduled in the island republic.
