2 dead, 7 seriously injured in crash involving tourist bus, car

The crash occurred early this morning on the North-South Expressway, northbound.

SEREMBAN:
Two people were killed and seven others seriously injured in an accident involving a tourist bus and a car at Km285.5 of the North-South Expressway northbound early today.

Nilai fire and rescue station chief Bakarya Salleh said they received an emergency call at about 5am.

He said the two fatalities were among the 20 people on the bus. He identified the two victims as a male bus driver, and an Indonesian woman passenger.

Five other passengers were seriously injured and sent to hospital.

“Thirteen other victims who suffered minor injuries were also taken to Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for treatment,” he said in a statement.

Bakarya said the victims travelling in the car consisted of a man and a woman, who also sustained serious injuries.

The  bus was believed to have been from Singapore heading towards Kuala Lumpur.
