Adopt-a pet: 6 Disney siblings up for adoption

KUALA LUMPUR:
For the many stray dogs wandering the streets and alleys of the Klang Valley, life is an everlasting struggle.

With a high risk of disease, accidents and abuse, these dogs deserve a better life with a loving family and a forever home.

Opened since 2011, KL Pooch Rescue & Resort has been helping provide these unfortunate dogs a chance at life.

Its Kalumpang shelter is home to over 250 dogs, many of which are suitable to be adopted out.

Despite being shelter dogs, they would make good family pets and the perfect companion to any animal lover.

Additionally, if you’re unable to take in any dogs but wish to help them out, KLPR allows the public to sponsor these dogs.

Here are six dogs up for adoption and sponsorship, all siblings from the same litter born three years ago to a shelter dog.

Bolt

The self-proclaimed litter leader, Bolt is highly energetic and will drill into the core of the Earth if unsupervised. (KLPR pic)

Bolt is the natural leader of the litter, and he is not afraid to throw his weight around as far as his siblings are concerned.

A boisterous fellow, he would happily run around a compound for hours with tongue flapping in the wind.

Also, he is something of a treasure hunter, so don’t be surprised to find him digging holes in your backyard. Who knows, he might strike gold.

He has since been dewormed, spayed and has received the necessary vaccinations.

Simba

A playful pooch, one would do well to be wary of this trickster’s shenanigans. (KLPR pic)

Sure, Simba may have the sweetest doggy smile in the world, but he might just have a trick up his furry sleeve.

Even for a dog, he is highly intelligent and once he sets his eyes on a treat, he will do anything and everything to get it.

That said, he would love to pull off a trick or two on humans and fellow dogs.

He has since been dewormed, spayed and has received the necessary vaccinations.

Aladdin

Fun personified, there’s never a dull moment with Aladdin. (KLPR pic)

Pranksters rarely work alone, and Aladdin is often the accomplice to Simba’s mischief.

In fact, Aladdin tends to be the instigator of these nefarious plots to get his favourite humans to spend more time to him.

A cheeky fellow, his demeanour is one that would make it hard for anyone to get mad at him.

He has since been dewormed, spayed and has received the necessary vaccinations.

Po

Highly intimate, Po will declare his love for you with a series of well-placed licks. (KLPR pic)

Be prepared to get wet with Po around, as a rain of slobber tends to follow wherever he goes.

A highly affectionate dog, he can often be found in the shelter’s playground licking his friends’ faces, whether they like it or not.

It comes as a surprise to no one that he is a sweetheart through and through who loves to show his affection for all.

He has since been dewormed, spayed and has received the necessary vaccinations.

Mowgli

Mowgli is one dog with a big heart and lots of love to give. (KLPR pic)

If you are looking for a dog that would be slavishly devoted to you, it’d be Mowgli.

Absurdly affectionate, it is likely that he will greet you not with a lazy tail wag but rather a full-blown assault of licks and kisses.

Sweet and without a bad bone in his body, he is a playful dog who will love you every moment you spend time with him.

He has since been dewormed, spayed and has received the necessary vaccinations.

Mulan

The only girl of the group, Mulan is feisty but confident. (KLPR pic)

Being the only girl in a litter of boys can’t be easy, but Mulan is hardly fazed by that fact.

In fact, she is one of the most fearless dogs who has ever graced the grounds of KLPR’s shelter.

More than willing to assert herself, she can be rather feisty with her brothers.

Unsurprisingly, she displays much confidence in herself and won’t back down easily.

Of the litter, Mulan is the only one to have the privilege of a sponsor.

She has since been dewormed, spayed and has received the necessary vaccinations.

Due to ongoing travel restrictions, visits to the shelter are not possible, but KLPR will make arrangements to send dogs to their adopters.

Adopters have a two-week foster period to decide if their new dog is a good match for their home.

Once adoption is finalised, a fee of RM350 will be charged and in return, you will get a lifetime of benefits including discounted dog food, boarding and grooming sessions.

Adopters and their dogs will have unlimited use of KLPR’s recreation facilities!

With so many beautiful dogs up for adoption, it is only fair that they be given a chance at a good life and a happy ending. Adopt, don’t shop.

If you wish to adopt any of the animals featured here, contact KLPR on WhatsApp at 012-3960977 or 016-2333647. You can also visit their website for more information.
