If you’re ever around Kinabalu Park in Sabah, be sure to stop by the Poring Hot Spring located about 32km away.
Along the journey, you’ll pass by Kundasang and Ranau, and both towns offer magnificent views of nature and most importantly, of Mount Kinabalu.
The views of towns in valleys sandwiched by green mountains are incredibly stunning, and this alone makes the trip worthwhile.

You’ll also pass by people selling vegetables and flowers by the roadside, as well as a morning market before reaching Poring Hot Spring.
Poring Hot Spring is part of Kinabalu Park, meaning that it is part of the World Heritage Site as well.
The main attraction here is, as the name suggests, the natural hot spring.

There are several pools available here to cater to different people, but one of the main highlights here is also the canopy walk — which will cost you RM3 to enter and another RM5 to rent a camera.
Don’t let appearances fool you, because the canopy walk might look easy but it is certainly challenging. For this reason alone, be sure to carry some water with you.

The canopy walk will take you about 15 minutes to half an hour to complete.
Despite the short distance, it is a nice respite from all the noise in the city as the canopy walk provides you with a great opportunity to get reacquainted with Mother Nature.
