Kyui, the dog who dines on chicken and papaya

A rather picky eater, this Husky-Doberman Pinscher mixed breed occasionally makes an exception and chomps on shoes too.

Pint-sized Kyui is one year and four months old and is a Husky-Doberman Pinscher mix. A rather fussy eater, she has settled on one protein and one fruit as her favourites – chicken and papaya.

On occasion, she will happily chomp on random objects that couldn’t possibly pass as food although Kyui would disagree.

Her owner Kantha says shoes and door mats seem to be Kyui’s picks to exercise her jaws on days when she’s particularly bored.

Don’t mistake Kyui for a serious dog – she’s very friendly and loves barking at other dogs in her neighbourhood. (Kantha pic)

A little naughty, a little cheeky, very friendly but rather timid, Kantha says Kyui cannot be considered fierce by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, he calls her a “scaredy-cat” who’s especially fearful of dogs with dominant personalities.

Be that as it may, Kyui thinks nothing of telling off the neighbourhood canines who get on her nerves as long as she’s barking at them from behind the safety of a locked gate.

“She likes to howl at night, barking at other dogs within the housing estate and waking everyone up,” Kantha says.

Like most other dogs, Kyui loves going for walks and being pampered – she will sit patiently in one spot as long for long stretches of time as long as you pet her head.

A smart girl, Kyui also knows how to sit on command and hold up her paw when you say, “handshake”.
