The victory for the Red Eagles in front of 83,520 spectators shattered The Bos Gaurus squad’s dream to end a 15-year-long wait to win the prestigious trophy.
Kedah’s win tonight also sees them match Selangor as the most successful team in the cup’s history with five titles, winning it previously in 1996, 2007, 2008 and 2017.
The 30th edition of the finals saw a tight clash between the two Northern giants, as they both played cautiously, taking the game into extra time after a goalless 90 minutes.
