Hodak, who had successful stints as head coach of Kelantan and Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), said Penang’s main problem was the young and inexperienced players.

“Most of Penang’s players do not have enough experience to perform on the Super League stage,” he told a press conference at FAP office, here today.

The Croatian did not rule out the possibility of dropping foreign and local players who did not play well.

“I will keep the good players while those who are not good will have to go,” he added.

Penang are stuck at the bottom of the Super League table.

The FAP also appointed Nenad Bacina as team manager and acting head coach while Mansoor Azwira will return as assistant coach.

Hodak and Bacina will remain with the Penang football squad until the end of the season. Penang still have 10 matches to play.

The fate of suspended Penang head coach Jacksen Tiago is unknown as negotiations between the FAP and the Brazilian are still ongoing.
