<p>Bright orange life jackets glow in the dark as children from a small fishing village in Selangor make their way to the riverside pier, where they will take a boat to school.</p>
<p>The practice of going to school by boat is a decade-old tradition in Kampung Bagan Sungai Kajang. It&#8217;s just a 10-minute ride for the 26 preschool and primary school pupils of SJK(C) Yit Khwan. Going by road would have taken half an hour.</p>
