4 killed in crash on Johor Bahru-Ayer Hitam road

An elderly woman was thrown out of a car and landed on top of another vehicle in the accident.

Four people, including a 10-year-old girl, died in a crash on the Johor Bahru-Ayer Hitam road, opposite the Simpang Renggam Prison, today.

Renggam fire and rescue station operations commander Ismail Mamat said an emergency call was received at 1.16pm regarding the five-vehicle crash involving a Toyota Vios, a Perodua Alza, a Proton Wira, a Mercedes E240 and a BMW.

He said a fire engine and five personnel were sent to the scene and found several victims still trapped inside the Toyota Vios.

“The victims from the Toyota Vios were pronounced dead at the scene. One of them, an elderly woman, was thrown from the car and landed on top of the Mercedes,” he said in a statement today.

The dead were identified as Aiman Rashid, 36, Nur Airish Syifa Sidek, 10, Nor Azlina Abd. Latif, 33, and Semek Mat Soh, 73, he said.
