The ministry said it received a complaint over the incident via its e-complaints portal on April 26.
“Further investigation and cross-checking of CCTV recordings revealed that the owner of the foreign-registered vehicle paid for RON95 using a credit card.
“The owner was observed filling the tank of the foreign-registered vehicle with RON95 petrol,” it said in a statement.
It said action had been taken against the petrol station for suspected offences under Regulation 3(2) of the Control of Supplies Act (Prohibition on Sale and Purchase of Controlled Goods) (RON95 Petrol) 2026.
The provision relates to a breach of Regulation 3(1), which prohibits the sale of RON95 petrol to anyone for use in a foreign-registered motor vehicle without written permission from the controller.
The ministry also seized several related documents to facilitate further investigation.
