Negeri Sembilan DAP, which holds 11 state seats, is scheduled to hold a separate meeting at its party office at 2pm.
The two meetings were confirmed to FMT by DAP’s Nilai assemblyman Arul Kumar Jambunathan.
The political crisis was triggered earlier today when Negeri Sembilan Umno declared that all 14 of its assemblymen were withdrawing support for Aminuddin, who is from PKR.
The state government is formed by PH (17 seats) with the support of Barisan Nasional (14). Aminuddin needs a simple majority of 19 seats in the assembly.
The state BN chairman, Jalaluddin Alias, said the decision to retract support for Aminuddin was linked to the ongoing crisis involving four chieftains seeking to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, from his position.
He said an official letter would be submitted to the state assembly speaker and secretary.
Meanwhile, Perikatan Nasional’s five assemblymen have said they are prepared to work with the 14 Umno assemblymen to form a new state government and ensure stability.
