“Although hardcore poverty has been addressed, poverty remains widespread, including in Kelantan. Therefore, I will provide an additional special allocation of RM20 million in Kelantan for projects to assist the poor,” he said.
He said this at a meet-and-greet session and visit to Masjid Gong Chapa here today, which was also attended by chief secretary Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Kelantan menteri besar Nassuruddin Daud.
Separately, at the Kelantan Keadilan Mini Convention 2026 in Kota Bharu, Anwar said the federal government’s development allocation for the state has increased from RM3.19 billion to RM8 billion.
He said the increase aligns with the Madani government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of the people in the state.
He also said the federal government allocated RM3.19 billion for development projects in Kelantan last year, nearly double the RM1.55 billion allocated in 2022.
Earlier today, Anwar launched the upgraded Sultan Ismail Petra Airport terminal in Kota Bharu. He was accompanied by Nassuruddin and transport minister Loke Siew Fook.
