Woman falls on LRT track at Abdullah Hukum station

The fire and rescue department says the victim, 39, suffered injuries on her hands and face, and has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has confirmed that a passenger fell on the tracks at the Kelana Jaya LRT line’s Abdullah Hukum station in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

It said the station’s power supply was cut to allow first responders to rescue the victim.

Separately, the fire and rescue department said the victim, a 39-year-old woman, escaped with injuries on her hands and face.

“The victim was successfully extricated at 6.38pm and given early treatment before being sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” it said in a statement.

Brickfields police chief Hoo Chang Hook said the victim stated she had slipped before falling on the tracks.

Rapid Rail said services between the Universiti and Abdullah Hukum stations were temporarily halted but have since returned to normal.

“Rapid Rail will cooperate with the authorities as they investigate the incident. We apologise to all affected passengers over the delays in their journeys,” it said in a statement.
