PETALING JAYA:
The Melaka government will probe a social media post allegedly linking LGBT culture with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

Religious affairs executive councillor Rahmad Mariman said his office was conducting checks on the matter, adding that the post, shared on Threads, reportedly originated from Kampung Batu Gajah, Merlimau.

“We do not want to draw any early conclusions. We are allowing for a thorough and detailed investigation,” Bernama reported him as saying.

This follows a viral picture showing a man in women’s clothing alongside another man, both dressed in matching pink outfits.

The picture was captioned “Jodoh Lebaran Dah Tiba. Alhamdulillah (My Hari Raya match has arrived. Alhamdulillah)”, and geotagged in Kampung Batu Gajah.

The post was criticised by other users for allegedly linking LGBT culture with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
