In a statement, Rapid Rail said it is currently working to restore power supply along the MRT route.
It also said that a thorough repair is needed to ensure the system resumes operation safely.
“The MRT service is expected to recover in stages over three days. Alternative trains and free shuttle buses are available throughout the disruption period to help passengers continue their journeys (to their destinations).
“Passengers are also recommended to use alternative rail routes,” said Rapid Rail in the statement.
Earlier today, Rapid Rail said that cable theft caused a major disruption to train services on the Putrajaya MRT line, disrupting the power supply between the Sungai Buloh and Damansara Damai stations.
Rapid Rail said checks found that power cables were cut and stolen near the Damansara Damai station, causing “serious” disruptions to its services.
It said that extensive repair work was needed, with disruptions expected to continue throughout the day.
