
PETALING JAYA: Four men were remanded for three days from today to assist in an investigation into the slashing of a 22-year-old man at an eatery in Kampung Permatang Tinggi, Penang, last Friday.
Magistrate Nurul Rasyidah Akit issued the remand order to enable police to carry out the investigation under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, Utusan Malaysia reported.
The suspects are aged between 22 and 43.
The victim was having dinner with his girlfriend and another friend at about 9.30pm when a group of men exited a car and attacked him.
They slashed him in the left side of his neck with an unidentified sharp weapon, severely injuring him.
The suspects were arrested less than six hours later at three separate locations in Penang and Perak.
