PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in Kuala Lumpur for allegedly injuring his 47-year-old father with a knife on Monday.

Wangsa Maju police chief Lazim Ismail said a report was lodged at 6.42pm about the incident, which had allegedly stemmed from a misunderstanding.

“The victim suffered injuries to his back and left arm from being slashed with a knife. He has received treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” he said in a statement today.

Berita Harian quoted a source as saying the incident, which occurred at their home at Batu 4, Jalan Gombak, happened after the father apparently scolded his son for skipping school.

Lazim said the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

He said the teenager has been remanded for three days from Tuesday.
