Azmin said he had invoked Clause 16.5 of the Bersatu constitution in unveiling the new line-up.

He said Rosnizan Ahmad has been appointed as secretary, Jumiah Jonet as treasurer, Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad as information chief, and Noorazley Yahya as communications and new media director.

“Selangor Bersatu is also committed to improving its outreach by strengthening information and communication programmes to better convey the party’s aspirations and ideals.

“We are confident that this new leadership line-up will bring fresh energy to strengthen the party machinery, intensify efforts to engage the people, and amplify the message of Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional as the political platform of the people,” he said in a statement today.

The leadership revamp comes after the disciplinary board dismissed Sepang division chief Suhaimi Ghazali and Puchong division chief Shukor Mustaffa for violating Clause 9.1.4 of the party constitution, and Bersatu’s code of ethics and conduct.

Suhaimi had served as Selangor Bersatu secretary, and Shukor as information chief.

Both were investigated after a complaint and summoned for a hearing on Oct 30. They have 14 days to appeal the decision.

Their removal follows a series of disciplinary measures within Bersatu, which saw the sacking of Supreme Council member Wan Saiful Wan Jan and the suspension of Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal last month.

Four other division leaders from Hang Tuah Jaya, Pengerang, Ipoh Timur and Ampang were also dismissed.
