PETALING JAYA:
A former soldier pleaded not guilty in the Kota Bharu sessions court in Kelantan today to raping a 15-year-old girl in April.

Harian Metro reported that Fakhrul Bazlie Apandi, 41, who entered his plea before judge Zulkifli Abllah, was charged with raping the girl in a house in Kampung Kubang Golok, Bachok, at 9pm on April 1.

He was also charged with raping the girl again at the same place at 1pm on April 12.

Both of the charges are under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which provides for up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping.

The prosecution was managed by deputy public prosecutor Nur Syafiqah Mohamad, while Fakhrul was unrepresented.

Nur Syafiqah proposed bail of RM10,000 with one surety. The court allowed it and set Dec 8 for the case to be mentioned again.
