PETALING JAYA: The decomposed body of a woman found under a pile of oil palm fronds in an estate area in Telemong, Bentong, Pahang on Monday has been identified as that of an Indonesian in her 40s.
Pahang police chief Yahaya Othman said her husband came forward to identify her body this morning.
“The body underwent a post-mortem yesterday, which found it had decomposed for more than two weeks. We are still conducting further investigations to determine the actual cause of death,” Bernama reported him as saying.
Yahaya also said the case remained classified as sudden death pending further investigations.
Police received a call from a member of the public about the discovery at about 5pm on Monday.
Yahaya said several items believed to belong to the victim were found nearby, including a black hooded sweatshirt, a pair of green sports trousers, a Casio wristwatch and a pair of black slippers.
