The accused, 63, claimed trial after the charges were read to him before judge Noor Zaihan Ali.

According to Kosmo, the man allegedly committed the offences at their residence in Taman Makmur Jaya, Karak, between 10pm on Oct 17 and 5am the following day.

The alleged acts of incest took place while the accused was living under the same roof as his wife and the daughter.

The charges were framed under Section 376B(1) of the Penal Code, which carries a prison term of between 10 and 30 years and whipping, upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Hakimie Ab Hadi appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was unrepresented.

During the proceedings, the accused informed the court that he relied solely on his monthly pension of about RM400 and is still supporting his wife.

Judge Noor Zaihan allowed the accused bail of RM20,000, subject to several additional conditions, including a prohibition against contacting the victim and a requirement to report to the nearest police station every month.

The court set Jan 26 for case mention to allow the accused time to appoint legal counsel.
