PETALING JAYA:
Police say they are in the final stages of investigating the death of a woman found hanging from a ceiling fan in her home in USJ 2/1 here in August.

“We will issue a media statement at the appropriate time,” Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said briefly to FMT.

Calls for justice for the victim had gone viral on social media in recent days, with many urging authorities to bring those responsible to account.

On Sept 15, police confirmed that statements from 32 individuals had been recorded as part of an investigation into the suspected murder of the woman, believed to be in her 20s.

According to a post-mortem report from Serdang Hospital, the cause of death was bleeding in the neck, with injuries to the muscles and bones consistent with manual strangulation.
